Relationships, Sex, Health Education (RSHE) Policy including Personal, Social, Citizenship Education.

At ACE Tiverton School, Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) and Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education are delivered in a sensitive, inclusive and developmentally appropriate way.

We recognise that our pupils learn and develop at different rates, and therefore lessons are carefully adapted to meet each young person at their individual stage of understanding rather than solely according to their chronological age. Through a combination of structured teaching, therapeutic approaches, discussion, visual supports, real-life contexts and personalised learning activities, pupils are supported to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to build healthy relationships, understand themselves and others, make safe choices and prepare for adult life.

Staff create a safe and respectful environment where sensitive topics can be explored with care, ensuring learning is relevant, meaningful and accessible to all learners. Close collaboration with families and consideration of individual needs, communication styles and levels of emotional maturity help ensure that RSHE and PSHE are delivered in a way that promotes wellbeing, dignity, independence and personal growth.
